From Now on NGOs Involved in Politics in Russia will be Considered "Foreign Agents"

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which non-profit organizations that are involved in politics, will be considered as "foreign agents", the Kremlin press service reported. According to the law NGOs that are involved in "political activities", and receive foreign funding, should be officially registered as "foreign agents" and submit a report once in a few months. Note, that in Russia, about 100 non-governmental organizations are engaged in political activity. All materials that are spread by that NGOs, including through media, or through the Internet, must state that they are "foreign agent". The law of "Foreign agents" does not apply to those organizations, which operate in the fields of science, culture, art, health, ecology or charity, and to the religious organizations.
